Awning Troubleshoot

Hi, my awning on my 2009 SunSeeker will not expand or retract on shore power/battery/generator. It will only work when the main engine is running which is kind of a pain to have to start the vehicle every time I have to use the awning. I figured it's a fuse somewhere and the main fuse panel is not showing any broken fuses.

Where else do I need to look.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Greg

Sounds like they wired it backwards. Not supposed to work if the engine is running!

I might add that the power steps extend and retract only when the engine is running or on shore power. I've checked the fuse panel by the batteries and they appear to be good (not blown). Don't know what else to check. It all worked when I purchased the RV. I'd like to be able to fix it myself as the dealer is always backed up schedule wise. Any ideas?

Thanks, Greg

are you sure your house battery switch is on and lite on showing on switch? This sounds like you battery's are low or dead or switch isn't on.

Is the battery disconnect on? Try that and see if it works.

Yes the house battery switch is on, but I'm not sure about a lite on the switch. I've never noticed if there was a lite. And the batteries are fully charged.

Thanks for the replies. Greg

There has been much discussion, arguing, moaning and groaning about the Solera awning if you have the “ smart arm”. You might find the answer if you go through this very long thread:
