Monitor seems to be working (menu functions and reverse grid in place) but screen is all White
Bad/loose connection?

Is your system like this in the photo? If so, check the connections on the multiplexer located behind the pull-out panel under the steering wheel. It should be on the left side probably behind wire. Make sure all the connection are tight and then you can scroll thru the monitor cameras and switch the connector around to see if you have a bad camera.
Most of us have encountered a blue screen with NO SIGNAL, haven't run across a white screen. You can call RVS who makes this system and they have good tech support.
Here's the manual also, http://www.rearviewsafety.com/media/...n_lowres_1.pdf

FYI, if you have mirror mounted cameras, they are from another manufacturer ASA Electronics. RVS system has proprietary cables and the ASA side cameras have an extra rewired cable so as to connect with the RVS system. It's between the end of the mirror camera cable in the arm and runs to the multiplexer.
Also, have you tried adjusting the brightness and contrast? Also, read the manual about doing a system reboot by disconnecting the power cable for a while.
Good luck and please keep up posted as others may have the same issue in the future.

Is it white at night also? If it seems okay or at least better at night I would guess that the camera auto iris is bad. Will probably have to replace the camera if rebooting/removing power doesn't fix it.

I think I'm going to have someone look at it
Who? is the question
I'd like to try the reboot (even though that's under the Blue screen display problem) but when I got under the dash I really couldn't identify the control box
I was tired after driving all day

Thanks Sagecoachdriver for the RVS link. I have seen the white screen once and blue a couple of times but camera is working for now. Anyone know where the multiplexer is located on a Solera?

The camera is an RVS. They have extraordinary tech support and should be able to help trouble shoot and give some answers. The tech support number is 800-764-1028. They are located in California.

So far I've found the multiplexer
Reboot
No change
Switched cable to other two unused inputs
Screen goes from blue (normal unused) to white
The red infrared light on the camera is illuminated
So......,
Either the camera (Iris) has failed, the camera cable/connection is bad, or the 20 something foot cable is bad
Trying to get it into a shop before ordering parts

Suggest you call tech support at
Customer Service: Rear View Safety Tel: 1.800.764.1028
Your model could be RVS-770619N

Do you have side mirror cameras? If not , only the backup camera port will be operational for testing as there in no trigger wired for the turn signal. But it may work scrolling on menu.

Also, reading up on CreativePar'st thread may help. http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...or-103337.html

Backup Cam went White

Thanks for the link
What I have learned
A camera that is perched at the top of an RV,subjected to the elements is going to malfunction at some point
We should be able to pop the rubber grommet off pull a short pig tail, unscrew the connection and replace the Cam
When I read they have to pull the back cap off and do paint and Body work to get a camera off???
I'm very nervous
Still waiting to hear from my Indy cause the dealer is booked to the end of June
At least I have purchased an extended warranty if this gets into BIG Bucks

Are you sure it's the camera? Before anyone starts tearing things apart back there, I would take the new camera and attach it directly to the multiplexer to see if that's the problem and is working.
Creativepart on the thread mentioned earlier had his replaced from the inside. You might want to send him a PM for more info.

Yah I'm hoping we can find a cam to plug in
I'm not tearing the unit apart and spending my deduct able to replace a $100 Camera
The people at Reverse Safety think it's either the Cam, the pig tail,or the long cable
What they don't Know is that FR didn't mount it so the cam can be simply removed and then easily check all components

If this is a new installation, I would look at the "pigtail". Is this all RVS parts?
What I ran across when putting a camera on a cargo trailer is that RVS has proprietary cable wire schematics. I was connecting it to another brand in-dash head unit with a different schematic. The color codes are different. RVS was able to provide the correct part and the camera has worked nearly 4 flawless years and still working.

Yah if you read the other thread that's linked up above you will see that the factory did not install the camera the way an after market install would be accomplished
My appointment to sort out and further trouble shoot is on tues

Ouch!! Trying to back up with moisture on the camera lens does not make your day.

We added an aftermarket back up camera and aftermarket backup sensors to our pickup and they have worked very well for nearly 4 years. The sensors have a distance meter that is very accurate. The frequency and tone changes the closer you come to an object. When an object is 3 ft from the rear bumper, it gives a steady alarm tone.

Our plan is to add a sensor system system to our 2500TS. I have gutted out a vertical blind track and it is perfect for attaching under the bumper while concealing the sensor bodies. It would be nice to have a couple sensors high up. Also anticipate a backup camera at the hitch.

Backup Cam went White

When my Camera works there is a grid to tell me how far to obstacles
Would you even hear a beep and I've never hit anything cause I stop when the grid says 1 foot???

Backup Cam went White

Update on the Camera
Got the unit back yesterday
My Indy couldn't take it till July 6 so One week in the Shop in the middle of summer is good news.
As I figured the Cam was bad.showed White screen. However, when they pulled it in the garage (Dark) the image reappeared so the iris was the problem.
As has been discussed before the back cap had to be dismantled to get to the camera connection.Tech told me it was a mess.6 feet of cable balled up and wedged in to side wall.
He ran the cable end neatly along the inside of the cap and positioned the connection for the camera pig tail in line behind one of the marker lights so if I have a failure in the future, pop the lens off and reconnect the camera pigtail, mount new cam, easy less than one hour plug and play fix.
This fix was almost 6 hours so I took a big hit but the other alternative was to trash the whole system and put in a wireless but obviously that would have cost about the same as this repair, due to needing the whole system as opposed to a new camera and all the extensive labor
I'm not thrilled that the Cap had to be lifted but he assured me it was put back on properly and they sealed it better than factory and It looks good to me cause Im up on the roof all the time
As a side note if the problem would have been the main (front to back) cable, the labor to run it and tear off the cap would have been cost prohibitive and we would have installed the wireless
FR,Did switching a camera have to be so difficult?
