Batteries aren't charging
I was plugged into shore power all weekend, battery disconnect was in the on position. Got home and within a 1/2 hour the indicator was showing empty. What could be causing this?

Use a volt/multi meter to check your battery. Then check output of converter with battery off. One or the other could be bad.

Technically, when a disconnect switch is "engaged/on", it is disconnecting the battery from everything.
And when it is "disengaged/off", it reconnects the battery to everything.

Batteries aren't charging
My 3171 charges with disconnect on or off when plugged into shore power. Check with a meter. Your batteries should read 13v or more when plugged into shore power. As far as to why they aren't charging others will have to chime in and point you in the right direction .

Opposite. When mine is on the bats are connected. Just like on a drag car, on/off

I would suggest that you have a bad battery(s) that could have a shorted cell draining them quickly. As suggested, need to see if they are charging first. If you are plugged into shorepower and the monitor lights go to 100% charge, chances are the converter is putting a charge to the batteries ( although not for absolutely sure).

Check to see if your vehicle chassis battery is being charged. It should receive about the same voltage as the coach battery if the charger system is working. Look for a small circuit breaker in the wiring around the battery box area and push the button to make sure it has not tripped off.

From comments on the forum, I think Forest River changed the converter connection when they switched to the Progressive converter (from the WFCO).
On our 2012 Solera (WFCO converter) the battery switch has to bo "on" for the converter to charge the batteries. As I understand, on more recent units (with Progressive converters) the batteries will charge whenever connected to shore power, independent of the battery switch position.

Stock battery's are junk.
Mine were replaced with Interstates after one year and I was able to get $100 rebate from the original Battery manufacturer.

Please post the fix, inquiring minds want to know.
Check the circuit breaker to the battery charger Push the breaker all the way down and than back up to reset. Breaker is located in the breaker panel and is marked.
