Battery disconnect?

I have a Forester 3011DS and noticed that there is a small clip-like mechanism on the driver's seat beside the seat control mechanisms. I assume this is a battery disconnect. It has a light green "window" with a picture of the battery on it but all it appears to do is click. It doesn't light up, though it looks like it should, and I can find no reference to it in the manual.

Can anyone enlighten me on what it is/does/how it might work?

Thanks!

That is the emergency start switch. It connects the house batteries to the chassis battery in the case when your chassis battery is dead and you need to start the motorhome. The clicking you hear is the solenoid in the battery control center.
The battery disconnect is above the stepwell.

Thanks jamiller45!

Makes sense - if I understand then I could in such a case charge the coach batteries from the gen, then use that switch to connect to chassis and start the vehicle?

Nice "safety valve" in that case.

yes. or you can plug in the coach. The battery control center is also designed so that if it reads the house batteries voltage level as full, and sees a constand charging voltage (over 13Vdc) for a period of 1 minute, it will then connect the batteries on its own and charge the chassis battery. The E-start switch is a faster more conveneient way to connect the 2 sets of batteries for an "emergency" start. It is basically built in jumper cables...if you understand that.
