Battery disengagement switch

I have a 2006 Sunseeker. The owners manual says to disengage the batteries when the vehicle is in storage. However, I have it hooked up to a standard electrical circuit and it appears that the batteries are being drained. Since the RV is connected to an electrical source while in storage, should the battery disconnect be left in the "on" position so it is continuously being charged?

The batteries are being drained by parasitic loads that are NOT controlled by the battery disconnect switch and by normal self discharge which runs around 10% per month in room temperature conditions...more in higher temps.
You need to have your switch in the connected position (i.e. you can turn on the coach overhead lights) if you want your battery charged by external AC connections.
If you have NO external connection and want to store the coach....FULLY charge the battery first...then REMOVE the negative battery wire so there can be NO loss to parasitic loads. You can safely leave the coach for at least 90 days if you disconnect the fully charged battery.

He says it’s hooked to a standard electric outlet.

Mr, Dan...he is hooked up to house electric now but draining because the battery disconnect switch is engaged. Throwing the switch will allow the batteries to charge from house current to his converter. 15 amps of AC current will power his converter fine so i was just commenting on when he isn't hooked up and how to preserve his batts in unplugged storage which I recommend OVER leaving it plugged in full time.
With a 2006 sunseeker...if his battery charger is not a 3 stage...he could cook those batteries by leaving plugged in. Less likely with a 3 stage but he is better off running a bulk stage charge every few months rather than just leaving it on float continuously. Hope that clarifies my background thinking which I did not include in the post.
