Battery Maintenance

I have had my sunseeker 3170 for a year now and decided to check the batteries. What am I looking for exactly. I keep reading to make sure that the water level is 1/8 to 1/4 inch above the plates. I do see water covering the plates (I see silver under the water). The water is barely covering them. Should I add distilled water? If so, how high should the water level be?

Thanks,

Jeff

I keep water in my batt just under the plastic on the caps, which is about 3/4 from the top of the caps. Use distilled water not tap water. I check mine monthly on the 1 st of each month. If not sure auto stores cell batt fillers cups that u stick in the hole once it get full water stops flowing.
