Black tank flush

Hooked hose up to outside tank flush connection and it says sewer valve has to be open, do they mean the black tank valve should be open? Does not appear to be running any water in or out? Trying to get a good cleaning before winterizing so any help would be appreciated.

When water is opened, you should hear the water jet striking the tank sides and overhead. Could be stopped by Vac/Check in supply loop hose to nozzle or by plugged nozzle in tank. Have been found with plastic shavings in nozzle or non return valve in backwards.

After the poo has poured out then hook up the garden hoseto the flush connection and in two minutes it will flow out. If within three minutes you don't hear it draining, shut the water off and check the level (lights). If you have flow let her go for 10 minutes. I never hear water spraying or striking anything but you will see the 4" hose shake and see movement. That will tell you its working.

Open the black tank valve as if you were about to empty/drain the tank.

You can leave the black valve closed for a short time to build up some water to better carry out debris. Don't forget it though as bad things can happen if the black tank fills up, I'm only comfortable with a few minutes.

I agree and that's how I've been doing it
Close it for a couple minutes and open it for a big out rush
Repeat and then leave the black valve open and let it run for the internal spray action
I can't stress enough how nice a clear connect end piece really tells the story

If you live in home with city water/sewer, don't forget the clean out drain on your property is your very own personal dump station
I dump at the camp site and do ice and some water/ liquid chem for bathroom use on the way home and then give it the full clean/flush at home in the front yard clean out
