Boon docking

I am staying over night in a rest stop for one night and would like to know if it possible to have a shower in the morning. If so how do I prepare it for the trip. Sorry I just bought this motorhome and have no idea how everything works. It's a 2012 sun seeker 3010ds

Thanks Gary

Water in the tanks, propane in the tank, turn on the heater, turn on the pump...and enjoy.

Sounds good thanks. Any idea how long it takes to heat up the water?

Plan on about 10-15 minutes.

Before you make a trip it might be best to do a overnight stay in the driveway at your house.

If you have no idea how things work, it's best to acquaint yourself with how things operate while still within the comforts of home.

It would be a shame to get to where you plan to overnight and find the water pump doesn't work or the water heater is inoperative or the fresh tank leaks and won't hold water or your battery is dead (for the 12v side of things such as the water pump) or your generator won't fire up (if so equipped), etc. etc.

Thank will do. Another question can you drive with propane turned on ? And if you want to use generator can you run that while driving?

Hey Gary, welcome to Forest River Forums.

Since you said " I just bought this motorhome and have no idea how everything works."
There are some things to consider-- Mainly is your new (to you) motorhome
winterized??
Are you going to have a dealer "summerize" it??
Water heater could be empty.
It could be in "winter bypass" mode.
IF it is empty and in bypass you can't use it until it's put in summer mode
and FILLED WITH WATER.
Do you know how to turn on your water pump??
There's more.....
I hope you have a trial run of that shower and water heater before you
hit the road!!
Do you know where your battery switch(s) are located?
Do you know how to turn on the refrigerator?

Lots of stuff to cover before you hit the road.

Good luck!!

X2 on what everyone else has said.
Yes you can drive with propane on but I dont, it is a safety issue. Driving with the generator on shouldnt be a problem. Attached very generic FR motorized manual, its a place to start. Check out the FAQs on dewinterizing and sanatizing your freshwater

The only propane appliance I run on the road is the fridge.

You can always run the fridge with the generator on the road and save prpane for those places that dont allow generator running

The fridge uses such a tiny amount of propane especially when compared against the amount of gas you'd use just running the generator. Use propane on the road, that's what these refrigerators were designed for.

We run the generator to cool down the 5th wheel couple hours before getting to camp site.
Learn this on this forum! Great tip!

Make sure you sanitize the fresh water tank as well.

Did it come with an owners manual? Reading is a nice pastime. Knowledge is everything.

No knowing where you are located you need to spend some time with a RV " professional". Suggest you spend a night in a campground and ask any one single question. You will get a lot of support and brotherhood. While this idea seems odd it is a great solution...

Not sure if you've seen modern RV owners manuals but they are extremely generic with no brand or model-specific information.
Not even RV-type information.
