2014 Chevy Express 4500 Cutaway Van | GM Fleet & Commercial Vehicles

2014 Ford E-Series Cutaway | View Full Specification Library | Ford.com

Ford says 415 on the engine specs
Chevy just says 6 speed. No Allison.

I'm not saying you're making numbers up. I just work for the factory and want to make sure accurate info is getting posted.

Ford says 415 on cubic inches not horsepower. We were talking hp. As far as the Allison I am going by what your dealer told me. Right now all I can verify is a 6 speed developed by Chevy and Ford combined. I am not loyal to either. I do love our 2450S and it has plenty of power as a V8 and the V10 myth of so much more power is just that a myth!!

Displacement is measured in cubic inches. Chevy has more.

Yes the Ford has more torque but not displacement!!

This was your post in response to displacement. You/we were talking about displacement as in cubic inches.

As for the Allison...that is why I am on here to clarify. Too many dealers just assume it's an Allison. The only Allison they put in was on Class A's and that was matched up with the 8.1 not the 6.0 liter.

Most people will agree that it is about torque NOT horsepower. That is why many people in towing like to get a diesel. It has high torque at low RPM's.

I love the Chevy. It does get slightly (according to them 1mpg) better gas mileage. But for towing heavy stuff, the Ford is better because it has more low end torque like a diesel (in fact it is paired with the old diesel torque-shift transmission).

Ford 420 ft lbs of torque @ 3250 rpms
Chevy 373 ft lbs or torque @ 4400 rpms.

On the smaller stuff, I prefer the drive/handling/suspension of the Chevy. On the bigger stuff and for towing up to 7500lbs I like the Ford.

Again, I love the Chevy, it has been bullet proof. Just trying to clarify the differences between the two. I personally sell both, so makes me no difference at all.
