Closet light

I have a 2017 Forrester 3011 DS. Does anyone know the part number or where I can get one the light in the closet stopped working. I checked all the wiring and it’s all good I got 12 volts , and if you flick the switch it will come on and when you close the door it will go out and open it doesn’t come back on. Thanks

sounds like a switch issue. As for the light itself, a photo would be helpful. Not all closet lights are equal.

I had the same problem on my 2016 3011. I took the switch apart and determined that these are just poorly constructed and prone to wear causing premature failure. I was able to get it working again but it just recently failed again after working for almost 2 yrs. At this point I would not want to replace it with the same model and am looking for a replacement make/model. If I find one I will post it here.

On second thought I might replace the failed closet LED light/switch with a separate magnetic switch going to a larger LED light strip. The current closet lights don't really provide enough light so this may be a better option anyway.

I swapped mine out for LED strip lights what the place wanted for the light was crazy. Good thing for amazon lol
