Damaged hitch 2018 Forest River Forrester (2401W)

Good afternoon fellow campers! I have a 2018 Forest River Forrester (2401W) class C MBS. Unfortunately my hitch receiver is damaged and I am having a difficult time trying to find a replacement. The hitch installed for Forest River is a Buyer's Product (aka SnowDogg) with a model number (3011706). I contacted Buyer's Product and the new hitch receiver is 3033706 but I cannot find a dealer that sells it.

Has anyone replaced their hitch receiver and what brand and model did you purchase. I really do not want a universal hitch receiver that will require drilling or any other modifications.

Thanks.

That's called a hitch receiver. A hitch is what goes into the receiver.
I recommend contacting etrailer for suggestions for an appropriate receiver.

Have you searched for a receiver hitch for a 2018 sprinter chassis?

Agree. Don't know how someone did that without a 10,0000 tongue weight on a long 2" extension. In addition, looks like the tubing was not fully welded or the welds were penetrated and broke loose since the metal isn't clean on the whole break.

It is going to have to be removed and completely replace all the way to the chassis, which may have been welded at the factory.

I went over an unmarked speed bump while towing my tow vehicle. I knew something was wrong when I went over it. I was doing the speed limit but the speed bump was high.

Ouch.
I agree with Scott. If it is welded on you’re going to need a skilled welder to replace it so the frame is not damaged.
I also agree with Dan in that there may be something like a Curt or a Drawtite that will be a suitable replacement. But you still have to get the el-smasho off.

I did remove the hitch receiver. 3 bolts on each side and dropped easily. Below is a pic of the manufacturer's part label on the hitch receiver.

Now, lest anyone think this is just interesting to me, I did the same thing to my rig in Sioux Falls last summer. Intersection between two side streets with a mound. Was going maybe 25, rig and TOAD went over it and it bent the tow plate attachments on my Buick Enclave. No other damage. Blue Ox said the thing needed to be replaced. Put a bottle jack under one of the arms and I could lift the car without bending it a degree. 10,000 miles later it looks exactly the same.

Can happen to anyone.

factory will know the replacement part and how to get it. They have been pretty helpful to me in the past on issues like this.

X2. Even the locking pin hole is wallered out. That receiver has been abused for some time. It's scrap metal now. There's no telling what other parts are equally stressed.
