Dashboard button?

There is button/sensor at the bottom right side of our e450 dash that doesn’t seem to do anything.

Dashboard button

It’s a 1.5 by 3 inch opening with a small black button.

Yes I believe it is just a cap for the stock Ford Radio aux input.
I've had the dash off and there was nothing connected to mine.

They do this occasionally, because the price to change it is too much.

I had a similar situation on an older GMC pickup I had. The check engine light would come on at weird times, and quickly go out. I took it in and explained to the Service Manager, and he just laughed and told me not to worry about it. I asked why not, and he explained that it was only on California models at that time, and there was no light bulb in that socket. He shined his flash light in the window and it came on. Said it would do it when I drove into thee sun; if it bothered me, just throw a magazine up on the dash.

I’m sorry, was there a question? What year and motorhome model does this pertain to? A picture of the button/sensor would be helpful.

That’s the one, it’s not a button it’s a cap for an aux input port on the stock Ford radio. My rig came with a Jensen installed by Forest River and the port is not connected.

I wondered about this "button" also. While installing a new Sony radio in the dash tonight, I noticed that there is a connector hooked to the backside. I have no idea what it is for. Any ideas?

It’s still the unused aux input from the stock Ford radio that was replaced when the motorhome was built. There is a connector that is not connected to anything.
