Dating the Forester

Thinking about purchasing a used Forester 2861 from a "friend". He says 2014, but when I look at the brochure, the upholstery and trim are 2013. Is this possible?

Yes. We ordered our 2014 Forester and specifically asked for a 2013 fabric.

Perfectly possible the way a lot of them date the units. Pretty common is for the manufacturer to "change" model years around March (even though it's identical to the prior year) and make the actual changes towards August / September. My current trailer was made in March 2016 and it's a 2017 model on VIN and all the paperwork, but it's identical to a late year 2016 manufactured in fall 2015.

My 2014 Mini Lite had just what you describe. I ordered it from the factory and got a call from the dealership asking if the next year's fabrics were OK as they had run out of what I ordered. So, what I had was a late year 2013 with an early year 2015 interior more or less. That unit was built towards the end of summer in 2013.

Man, that's confusing....

All the above is correct about using different fabrics etc. The vehicle title is what you would use to verify what year the unit is registered as.

Yes VIN number for the coach will confirm the year.
