Diamond Shield Removal
Looking for anyone with experience removing Diamond Shield. Would like to remove it from the nose on the bunk over cab on my 3010 Sunseeker.

Lots of posts on this across the internet and this forum. Here is one from two days ago: https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...ml#post2628684
Questions?
Edit: There are many youtube videos available for your viewing pleasure. Plan on a full three days of work to get the job done.

Diamond Shield is a brand name for a paint protection film. Titan Shield was applied to my unit over the paint. It is found on motorhomes with full body paint.
Here are photos of new, 3 yrs old and gone forever. In my opinion it is 100% garbage and a waste of resources. For Titan shield, their warranty language reads that it is void if you use their product on an RV!!!

I had a tint shop remove the moldy/nasty 3 year old protection film from above the cab. They placed a ladder on each side and a long plank in-between the ladders to sit on and reach up there.
For the rest (tall side areas behind the cab and along the front of the hood and fenders) I did it myself. I let it sit in the sun and just started peeling from a corner. The moldy film peeled off relatively easily but removing the glue under it is another story.
I bought some 3m adhesive remover spray (comes in a black can) from my local auto parts store, plastic razor blades from Amazon and some mineral spirits and got to work.
I used the adhesive remover and plastic blades first, working in a 1 sq. foot section at a time. The glue made a gooey mess, and I wiped that off the surface with the mineral spirits.
You”ll then want to throughly wash the surfaces after removing the glue.
Caution: When working on the hood area, you need to mask off the upper area of the headlights to protect them from the adhesive remover. I didn’t know that, and the plastic in one of my headlights became cloudy and damaged.
Hopefully I can use a headlight lens repair kit to sand the lens down down to fix it (haven’t tried it yet).
I am SO done with PPF (paint protection film) I will NEVER have it on any vehicle in the future.

You didn’t address who you’re asking in this question.
In the future, start by identifying their name, or click on the “quote” under their entry like I did with yours here…..and then it copies it at the top so everyone knows who is talking to who/whom.

Basically, I had my rig outside with the sun on the nose, to warm it up. Then took a small ice scraper to get it loose in one area, then began to pull it off by hand, rolling it as I pulled it loose. I think the key was keeping the nose in the sun on a very warm day, so it would loosen up.

If one lives in a " low sun" region like where I live a hair dryer or adjustible heat gun works well.
The 3-M adhesive remover works well to finish the job.
