I think it is standard on the E450 chassis.

That is what the video said (standard)
But why no word from dealers or salesman about this? It would be a selling point for a lot of people. Nothing in a brochure , oh well guess it’s supposed to be a 🤫

They seem to be putting it on a lot of models now. Selling point maybe, I think more likely a CYA thing given all the blow out stories. Legally, they can say they did their due diligence trying to help buyer prevent blowouts by ensuring proper tire pressure and temps were maintained in the event of litigation.

What blow out stories? I have not heard anything about tires since the Michelin recall…

Just across forum in general. People are always reporting blowouts, particularly among one or two Chinese brands. (cough, cough, Castle Rock!)

I don’t think China Bombs are on the Ford chassis, as they are on 5er’s and tow behinds.

I agree. I’ve not heard of a high percentage of blowouts on motorhome units.
Almost all of the tires I’ve seen are well known brand name models.
Still, it’s important to maintain proper air pressures for your motorhomes too.

Looks like your outer left rear tire needs a little attention...

Goodyear Endurance came on my tow behind. Some felt perhaps FR couldn't get the chinese tires because of Covid shipping problems.

Indeed it does appear that way.
Jc4ut I had the wrecker come by and flip you back on your wheels.

The problem is that people are not reporting alleged tire defects. All that I see is griping about tire failures without factual supporting information such as load, speed, inflation pressure etc. When you encounter that manure it would likely be more useful to suggest that “people” properly report their incident to the folks who can and will do something about it.
Here is the link:
https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#tire
That, IMO, would be so much better than to regurgitate the people are saying rumors. Especially when your subject is ST tires and you are in a Motorhome section.

I do know for sure that factory TPMS is not standard on my Sunseeker’s 2019 Ford E-450 chassis. For the sake of accuracy in this thread, you may want to be specific about the chassis brand/model/year. Sunseeker is and/or was available on different chassis: Transit, E-series, Chevy, and MBS. Model year also makes a difference with features.

By the way…….I can absolutely say that this dashboard layout is not from the Ford E450 I’m driving. (2017)
I’ll wager this is the layout from the new generation layout from Ford, that started within the last year. Probably around the time of the new V8 engine configuration, when they updated the cockpit layout for the first time in a long time.
New technology does have its advantages, and if it helps people maintain proper tire pressure awareness, then I’m all for it.

My post was mainly about why all of a sudden are TPMS being installed across the board on ALL models of RVs at the factory now. Decreased liability is I'm sure a primary driving factor.

Kris…..
Padded dashes became standard when?
Seatbelts we’re mandated years ago, in the interest of safety.
Air bags were mandated also in the interest of safety.
A few years back, the transportation gurus said backup cameras would be factory standard in the name of safety.
TPMS are becoming standard equipment on just about every vehicle…..not just in the RV sector.
We already know technology is going to make autonomous braking, steering, blind lane assist standard too.
Put it all together…..that’s why none of the next generation will have to drive anything.

if you really want to lower the number of vehicles on the road just put a clutch and a 5 speed gear shifter in the vehicle.
Millennials will have no idea how to make the vehicle move

TPMS is not installed by FR on units this section is focused on. It was not until the electronics were updated that it was available for DRW chassis. That applies to both F and E series. There is no “all of a sudden” as it has been in development for years (hot topic in 2012). As far as the motivation for Henry getting around to the DRW’s, only the bean counters know for sure.

Ok, I was just going off the OP's post that TPMS is now standard on Sunseekers.
