Dinette Cushion Comfort/Longevity

Quick question for you guys; how are your dinnete cushions holding up? I'm wondering b/c my model doesn't have a couch so the dinette will see more use then we normally would.

I was wondering if adding a mattress topper to the plywood base of the seating and then putting the cushions on top would provide any value, in terms of comfort and helping the cushion last a little longer.

Thoughts?

We went to a furniture reupholster and bought 3-inch foam pieces for our U dinette (they cut to fit), had them custom covered in a coordinating fabric including a piece to cover the table. This made the bed much better and the seats softer, as the original cushions were not supportive and bottoming out. We may have to do away with or re-stuff the original cushions at some point because they are such junk. For now they are stacked on top, which makes the table a better height for us.

The question is hard to answer because of the unknowns and variables. It all depends on things like; Amount of use, Type of use, density of foam, liner, cover material and weight of the user. Basically, Twiggy’s cushions are most likely going to last longer than André the Giants.
If you are hitting bottom, you might want a higher density foam. If it feels like a rock, lower density is indicated.
