Dometic 310 w/sprayer

Ordered one to replace the plastic potty. Would appreciate any tips on installation other than holding my breath. It’s going to be a challenge to do it in the 2800. Small closet, big Duck.

I have installed one in the last three RV's I've had (presently a 3011DS ) so I guess I like the product.
First thing I'll say is are you sure you ordered what you want? First one I ordered was a ROUND toilet. Mama said no way, second one was oval - Mama liked that. Also there are different heights.
There is also a choice of colors, that's your call.
You said you are getting the sprayer, I like it, don't use it very often but when I do i like it. It doesn't spray till you step on the foot pedal slightly so there is no chance of it leaking when you aren't around.
Greatest invention is the No-Slam lid, I have them at home and in the RV. No chance of the lid slaming loudly at 3am. And it doesn't move around as your sitting there.
The instalation of the fixture was super easy - it took just a couple minutes with an adjustable wrench.
The water supply was the only difficult part. The old does not line up with the new. I am lucky to have PEX water lines in my unit so it was easy to go to a big box store and buy the couple fittings and tubing I needed. The working room was tight and I'm a 200 lb puppy so it wasn't easy squeezing in, but do-able. The one connection supplies both the flush water and the sprayer.
End result is a very quiet, very firm, very easy to clean, no smell unit and Moma is very happy.

The adventure begins. (not Remo)

I received the new 310 yesterday. It was the right part 302310181. It is white with the elongated bowl, new slow close wooden seat and a sprayer.

Unfortunately the unit did not survive shipping. The vacuum breaker cover arrived shattered. Since I bought it through Amazon I would have to return for exchange but the seller does not have any more in stock. So I called Dometic Sanitation and asked for a replacement part. Well it turns out that it comes only with a new seat. I guess there will be a spare seat in my future.

I’m confused.......doesn’t take much.

According to the Dometic link attached here, the 310 model is a round bowl.
The 320 model is the elongated bowl.

Duck......yours is a 310 with elongated bowl?

The new 310 is slightly elongated. The bowl measures 13.25 L x 11.75 W. It is not as elongated as the 320. The 320 does not fit as it is 3” longer.
As you can see in the photo, the lid/seat is more elongated than the bowl.

Hate to break it to you but the dimensions of the 310 has always been the same. The 310 in my 2014 TT is the same size and has never been changed. The only difference is the seat and lid is plastic instead of the new soft closing wood.

Interesting. No way for me to know that. So it looks like the 310 was really never round.

The 300 is round, 310 is oval, 320 is elongated. There are some differences in the base mounting flange of all 3. There are some RV's with the 300 that others have had to do a little finagling to get the 310 to fit. The 320 is the hardest to install when replacing a 300.

I just had to replace the Dometic 310 that came with our 2019 Rockwood Signature 5er. The arm connecting the flush ball to the foot pedal somehow was stripped and moved independently from the pedal.

Couldn’t find one at any local RV dealers and Amazon delivery was going to take 5 days. I couldn’t wait because we were camping at the time. I discovered that Canadian Tire carries them (cheaper than RV dealers but a bit more than Amazon.ca). It was manufactured in June this year but it has a plastic lid, not a wooden slow close lid. It’s more round than oval. We have oval Kohler toilets at home that are a lot more elongated than the Dometic 310. I wanted to get the 320 but the toilet flange is too close to the wall behind the toilet.

itat,
I see from your photo that you got a different model. It has a different part number.

Our Dometic 310 just failed this way. I repaired the leak between the upper section and the base just over a year ago (that fix seems to be fine). Have a replacement 310 on order.

Dometic’s web page for the 310 has several different versions but they all say they come with the wooden slow close seat/lid. I’ve emailed their customer service to see what they say.

Duck......the toilet in your rig looks to be a first generation model.
They’ve been vastly improved since yours.

Just sayin’
