Dometic refrigerator handle

I have a new 3010ds with the RM1350 refrigerator. One of the handles is not securely locking into place. It looks like all I need is another handle. My question is do I contact FR or Dometic for the new handle as it under warranty from both?

Try Forest River first. I had the same fridge in my past RV and replaced three handles over two years. In the end I had a few extra spares from Dometic. It's not a great designed handle and they keep breaking.

Refrigerator Handle

I have the same refrig. and have the same problem. I replaced the bottom right handle and it still won't stay latched. Seems as the latch needs to be moved to the right, but I see no adjustments. I have a strap attached on both sides that we attach when we move to keep the right side doors from opening up. Seems the latch is a very poor design.

If under warranty go to your dealer for new one, something else to keep in mind is that the handles do interchange, lower left goes to upper right and lower right goes to upper left, some times just changing them around they will work better I also keep a left and right as spares.

Dometic has changed the part number to a newer version. Is it a new and improved handle? It looks like the same!! ????

So how do we know if we have the old handle or the new handle. Mine seems to be ok except for the bottom left. It seems to have a mind of its own so I push the handle to the closed position to make it catch and it works for now. Do you have part numbers of the old and the new? Thanks.

I have spares at home with the part no. but I'm not there. If you order the handles it will be upgraded to the new ones. If I remember they call it a metal handle. It looks the same.

Did anyone come up with a part# for the new handles, 3 of my 4 wont operate on my 14 sunseeker 2860DS 4 door refrig. I've told them at my dealer about the new design but they say they don't exist...

help Please

Regfrig. Handles

I called Dometic last week. The lady fumbled around on the computer for a while, then put me on hold. After a minute or so, she came back and said she found the redesigned handles. She said she would ship 4 handles out that day. She would never have looked if I had not told her I read on the forum they had been redesigned. I was not told the number and have not seen them yet.

Thanks for the info, would you post the part numbers when you get them please. I think there are 2 part numbers for the 4 doors. Did they give you any trouble about sending them to you? Mines under warranty still.
thanks
Ron

Doesn't it feel good when you educate someone about their job!

Replaced mine last year. I went to Camping World and they ordered the handles, taking care of the warranty with Dometic. They would have installed the handles also for free but I elected to replace them myself!

Have the same fridge and no problems yet. Like to see a pic of the new handle if someone has one.

Still looking for part numbers on the new style handles. And confirmation that they are metallic based instead of plastic. Two weeks plus and dealer hasn't got ordered

New Door Handles

Well, I received my 4 new handles from Dometic. Disappointment!!!!!! I see no difference than the original I replaced from the Dometic service center. They are not metal-black flimsy plastic like the originals.

Here are the numbers, but don't waste your time on them: (2) 3851299010
(2) 3851299028. I will call my dealer and get his opinion.

I thought the "metal" handles would be a totally different look. But what I think it is that there is metal inside the plastic. I put on the "metal" handle and it lasted till I traded it in.

Sorry, I'm in Arizona and my spares are in Michigan. I've got about a dozen spares at home I could make a deal on but we won't be home till mid May.
( ordered 4 and they sent 4 sets of 4)

Well I am not sure what is going on.. my dealer ordered handles and I made a point of Asking strongly for the upgraded ones.. The one that was on the refrig was 385129902. the new one I just received was same # with an 8 on the end (3851299028 on bag) but 385 12 99 02 on the handle. same , same.

The other handle # is (3851299010 on bag) 385 12 99 01 on new handle. I haven't taken the one off the refrig yet but I am guessing it will be the same deal as the other one I replaced. same, same.

I would sure like to find out if there really is a new improved handle. I pressed the parts girl and she said that's what they say it takes... so much for listening to what I told her...
