Driving miles when low fuel light comes on

Just wondering how many miles can we drive with the low fuel light on. I rarely let the fuel tank get past halfway but on my drive home this weekend I didn't want to stop until I reached home so I could fill tank for the next trip. I ran it 45 miles with the light on and then the fuel tank only accepted 50 gallons of fuel. Anyone push the limit on miles farther and what was the most fuel put in on a fillup?
Jim

This was covered in an earlier thread a few months back. Search the forum threads on "Gas Tank Warning" (including quotation marks so you narrow the search), and read what others have said about range on the E450.
