E450 Dash Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the dash from a 2016 E450? I have all the wiring harnesses disconnected, but there is not enough clearance in the dash to remove it from around the column even though I have the tilt all the way down and put the shift lever all the way into low gear. While I have enough clearance to put in a switch for the 12V sockets, I'd like to take the radio out so I can plug in a video cable so if and when I add another rear view camera, I can just plug it into the hanging cable and not have to mess with the dash/radio again.

If you only want to remove the radio, you do not need to remove the dash. Google e450 radio removal. There's several YouTube videos

I actually did quite a bit of searching and could not find anything related on google, YouTube or this forum. You can see how much I can pull the dash off and also that the Jensen radio is bolted in. I can't seem to find anyway of pulling it out short of removing the dash entirely which is where I'm stuck at. I might have to give up on it for today and do this another day as I got the switch and working and just don't have enough time before I run it back to the storage lot later.

I guess persistence is really a virtue. After stepping back and giving it some more thought I discovered the secret to removing the dash. If your remove the panel under the steering column and loosen up the two bolts holding up the column, you'll then have enough clearance to take the dash completely out. With that figured out I was then able to finish install the toad brake LED, On/Off switch for 12V sockets and then install camera cable to Jensen radio. I think this was a good days work!

Which TOAD break system are you using? I like the permanent led mount idea. I'm getting ready to pull trigger on TOAD tow bar and brake system purchase. Thanks.

I think you can see "RVibrake"on the lower right corner of the pic in my earlier post. Although mine is the Version 2 model which I bought used. And while the display does tell you when the brake is being applied, its a black LCD display and does not stand out, hence the red LED almost at eye level....I should never miss that!
