Eternabond on 2013 Sunseeker-Advice wanted
My 2013 Sunseeker has a small springy spot near the front cap....Might be water leak or construction issue. I was considering adding eternabond tape to the front seam where the roof joins the cabover to stop potential water issues.( 6" wide eternabond).....Do you all think I need to take care of the springy area before adding the tape.I guess I am concerned about internal water damage( can't see any from inside) ..Comments appreciated! I have limited faith in the Dicor sealant. thanks!!

I am afraid I can't help you with your question. I would think you have a fiberglass roof so I am not sure what would be spongy about it. I do have a video about doing the Eternabond tape and would do the whole thing while your at it.

In the picture you see the side roof seam with the metal strip and it is screwed on, Im resealing with the eternabond. Would you go over this and cover it up with the eternabond ?

Yes, I would. I did that with a motorhome that had owned. Just clean and prep properly.

I would on the theory that the tape will keep it in good condition. It isn't like the tape can't be removed if needed, it just isn't easy to do.

chime in late
i have a 2012 2250s i bought used. Knew nothing about rv's. still don't. But...
We were leaking severely in the front. There is a spongy/ soft spot where it joins the front fiber glass cowling, but only about 6" in the front corners.
To fix water damage I tore things apart. Aired it out and repaired. I did not fix the roof spongy spot. Note:it is fiber glass roof.
To fix the leak: I re sealed with Dicor. I let it dry 3 weeks. I then used eternabond tape. Results: no leaks- at all. no where. no how.

I have a 2013 SS, 2300 and had the same issue. Used eternabond tape over all seams and around all roof vents.

I forgot to mention that I also took out the cab over windows and sealed them with new brutel tape. For extra measure purchased and installed rubber rain guards around all windows. These guards wrap the top and sides of each window and divert the water.
