go to any big truck garage, like fleet pride or QFS if you don't want to do it yourself. Their bays and pits will easily fit your f450

Anyway, the OPs question was in regards to info on where he could get his oil changed at a reasonable cost !

Well, I will continue to be wise enough to keep receipts. Why? Two reasons 1) it circumvents the argument that you haven't taken care of the vehicle 2) those receipts sure come in handy when selling the RV. I and many other buyers would rather buy the vehicle that has the proof of good maintenance than the one backed only by a claim that it was properly maintained.

I've already spent enough time discussing what should be obvious. Not keeping receipts is basically not a good idea.

And my answer as others is the best place to get oil changed at the best place is at home!

All he needs is a Fumoto valve with a drain hose option and he can do the oil change in his church clothes using a creeper.

Make sure you use a Ford spec oil. If you take your Ford diesel to a non-Ford shop, I'm 99% sure they will not use an oil that meets Ford specs. There are very few API CK oils that meet the specs. API CK came out last Fall. If you use a CK oil it must have this spec on the label: WSS-M2C171-F1

BTW, most Ford dealers will use a 10w30 oil in your diesel. If you tow, 5w40 or 15w40 summer months is what is recommended. I personally prefer 5w40.

I'm posting this not to give the OP a hard time but be aware that going to a non Ford oil change shop does not gurantee you will get the right oil. Ford discovered that many API CK oils DO NOT provide sufficient engine wear protection. I suspect that is due to API CK oils having less anti-wear additives such as ZDDP to protect emissions DEF at expense of engine....gotta love the EPA!

I keep a journal on each of my vehicles. Have done this since 1966. Gave our daughter in law my DAd Third with the journal. She took it to a shop to have some maint. done. The mechanic questioned her about it and didn't believe her. Showed him the book and he could not believe anyone kept records like that. Needless to say he d I'd the work!

I don't believe DEF fluid enters the engine or causes less anti wear additives. That problem rests with the ultra low sulfur fuel.

+1 for the Fumoto valve and doing it yourself. We are full time and I change the oil on my F-450 and don't spill a drop.

Not quite, you are correct that the DEF has no effect on engine wear but ULSD causes excess wear on the injection system only not the engine. It's highly advisable to use a lubricity additive or better yet 2% biodiesel blend to extend the life of your injection system.

I've never seen a shop put 10W30 in a diesel, I'm not saying it never happens but 99% of the shops know enough to put 15W40 ( or something like it) in a diesel. I'm 99% sure any commercially available ( even the cheapest store brand) 15W40 will meet or exceed Fords specifications.

Like I said before, his best bet ( besides doing it himself) is to hit a truck or bus garage where all they do is work on diesels and the layout will easily accommodate a motor home
