Fixed length "stops" ?
We purchased our 2017 Forester 3171 DS through a Houston RV broker and were not permitted to know or be able to contact the seller.
We found these three shower rod pieces in a cabinet and haven't figured out what they are for.
We have tried them as a stop to keep the slides in, too long.
Any suggestions out there?

Impossible to know without the length, but they look like the stops that are used in rv refrigerators to keep food on the shelf.

look to big for a fridge and not spring loaded. Look for round scuff marks on things that move other than the slides. those rubber ends tend to leave marks.

Are they fixed length or adjustable? If you hold both ends and then attempt to rotate they might rotate, then allowing length to be adjusted and then rotated again to tighten. Similar to old shower or closer rods.
Just a guess but give it a try.

Could be used in cabinets to keep items from sliding.

They are for the wall slide to stop it from going out while driving. 2 came with mine and haven't used them in 95000 miles.

These are fixed length and won't work in the fridge or freezer. These are too long for a cupboard.
They could be for a slide if they are forced into a position at a slight angle. I found a place on the driver side slide that could work as an emergency hold on the slide movement. Too short for the BR slide.
This would have been easier if PPL had allowed me to find out the previous owner's number and I could have called and asked.
Thanks all for your input.

Maybe the previous owner had a daughter that was a cheer leader.

A32 deuce answered the question a few posts back.
God forbid that you ever need to use them because that means that one or more of your slides are not working. You should find that the rods are the exact distance from the coach wall to the inside lip of the slide when the slide is all the way in. They keep the slide from going out if you ever have a situation where the slide motor has been removed. they go on the top of the slide.

See post #1 or #7
Also consider the 3171DS has two slides so 4 would be indicated.

We used to ship those to keep the slide room in while driving, but we decided the new slide rooms don't need the stops.
I hope this helps

Very interesting. So maybe they are not too long and probably missing one.
Disregard all references to post #7 and #11.

There is no guarantee that to long of stops could have been placed in your unit. Mine are a hair short!
