Flooring suggestions in E450 cab

Our Sunseeker just has the thin factory rubber one piece flooring in the cab.
Easy to wipe down and clean, but kind of thin.
Has anyone come up with an improvement for noise or heat insulation to place over top?

I’ve seen Husky or WeatherTech floor mats, but I figure they’re designed to typically lay over top of carpet, and that incorporates how they attach in position….at least that’s how they appear in my other vehicles.
Their plastic/rubber composition may slide around too much if laid on top of the factory rubber flooring.

Maybe just a project for someday.

Here’s what I got.
https://www.autoanything.com/floor-m...A4395A0A0.aspx
Lloyd Mats Ultimate Custom Mat. They are expensive, mine was $139 plus shipping and tax, $160 I think. But it’s nice, worth it to me. Also the shipping took over two weeks to receive to Houston.

It’s a one piece nice carpet that covers all the floor including between the seats. The problem on the website is they only list up to a 2014 E450. I entered my year 2018 and it does not list an E450 in the model drop down menu. So I ordered the 2014 and it fits perfectly.

I’ll try to find a picture I posted of it.

The photos of your installation are first rate. Hope they stay that good looking.
Unfortunately, when I contacted them and advised them I live in Canada, they reported they don’t ship to Canada.

Search the forum for E-450 mats. In the search results there is a long list of previous threads discussing this exact topic, with many recommendations for E-series cab floor mats.

Call Lloyds direct and see if they will ship to the frozen north. I went direct to Lloyds and they beat AutoAnything's price.

Check out rving with Tito.

https://www.rvwithtito.com/

He/they've got a video on insulating the cab floor which solved their hot floor issue and helps reduce engine noise.

You could do the insulation like Tito then lay the carpeting solution ^ on top.

Like you said, a project for someday maybe.

When we got out Forester with the E450 Ford cab, I hated trying to clean out mud. I got the WeatherTech floor mats for the E450 and I don't feel they slide around on the rubber mat. It is so much easier to pull out a floor mat and brush off with a small hand broom. The WT mats are as good as it will get to fit around the engine dog house. Highly recommended.

WeatherTech mats usually have small plastic teeth to grab the carpet to secure their place in any vehicle, given that there’s usually carpet in any vehicle.
Are there no plastic teeth on the bottom of yours?
So you’re saying they don’t slide around on top of the factory rubber flooring?

I plan to redo my floor this winter as part of a cab makeover project. For the floor I am going to take a out the rubber mat and the engine cover and put heat shielding/ sound deadening material on the floor. Then put the rubber floor back in with a Lloyd's mat over top of it.

I don't recall plastic teeth as my WT mats are all rubber. They stay pretty much in place. I would look to confirm, but my rig is back in storage for another week.

While you're going to the trouble you should add 80mil sound damping material to your doors. It takes a 3ft x 3ft piece for each door. I used the plastic that's on the door as a template. Man does it reduce the road noise. Plus it will make your door speakers sound better too. I also upgraded my stock speakers to JBL 2way speakers.
