Forester 3051 questions
Hello Folks
Yesterday we brought home our new 2018 Forest River 'Forester 3051' so if you dont mind I'm gonna be asking a few questions probably for the next few weeks or so
I'm already in another thread which your fellow member has been great in helping me out but this is another little problem.
In the outside cabinet on the drivers side where you have the Black and Grey tank valves for draining I noticed that there is a light inside there probably for helping one out at night
and I noticed that it is always on, so is there a switch that I might have turned on to enable that light to come on because inside that cabinet there isnt one at least that I can see
Thanks, Jake

Look in the center of the light, there might be a little button to turn the light on and off.
At least that is how it is on my 3011, so I guessing it might be the same.

Those little buttons are a bugger for sure. I got lucky and happened upon mine. Glad to help out.

Hi Folks,
A couple of Q's...
1) My outside shower handle is leaking so I turned both valves closed and its still has a very small leak (even though pump is off) so is there an upstream valve that I can close for the time being to isolate??
2) There is a small black switch on the inside drivers door (says on/off) just about at eye level, again, on the inside door frame, so I have no idea what it does, LOL...
3) The big thing I just found out today while backing up my rig into my driveway is that my rear levelers will hit the driveway apron, its a good thing I always backup very slooooowly
so my question is, if I add more air into the rear shocks will that lift up the back end a couple of inches??? so what I did was place some wood pieces at the tires right before the levelers would hit and that was all I needed to help raise the rig enough to back up,
So how do I raise the back end a couple of inches to avoid this nonsense??
Thanks, James

I can help with 1 question. #2 that should be for heated side mirrors. I am guessing in that you have a unit with the Arctic Package. This includes the heated black and grey tanks as well as heated side mirrors.
The other 2 questions are great ?, just don't have any thoughts on those. I look forward to see what others have for you.

1- There are no upstream valves. Keep in mind the outside shower controls both turn off the same direction. They do not function as a normal dual control faucet does. Why, good question!
If you want to add valves there is easy access to the pex lines going to the outside shower by removing the top section of plywood under your mattress.
2- The switch is for the heated outside mirrors.
3- Slow is good. If you have the Quadra Bigfoot levelers, sometimes when that happens you will bend the pin that activates the full up posistion sensor.
The Ride-Rite airbags will not lift the coach any sinigificant amount. Wood ramps are the typical solution.

The ride rite airbags will lift the rv maybe 2 inches but the levelers are attached to the frame/chassis so it will not help. Be careful so you don't bend the pin. I carry a few spares I got at Lowes.

Like Steve-W said, you may have one of the controls in the on position since they turn on and off in a unique pattern. I took a black magic market and put an "Off" above each control with an arrow pointing in the off direction.

Hi Folks, so we took out the coach this past weekend and all the important stuff worked great, heater, AC, 4 door fridge, ice maker, and it drives like a dream
My question today is, how do I use my outside cable input to be used with my TVs? Btw all 3 TVs work great with the roof antenna but I couldn’t figure out how to switch inputs.

On the amp power supply plate which has a led you will need to turn that off. On the plate is a tiny button that turns off the OTA antenna and will enable the outside cable to work.

Not only will you have to turn off the outside antenna amp but you will also need to change each TV from AIR to Cable (through the TV menu) and then re-scan the channels.

It will be in the space either above or below your coach radio. Depending on the date built some are below in the cabinet with the door, others are in the open space above the radio.
