Forester 3051s plug for 110v

Morning - Picking up our Forester 3051s on the 19th. Getting really excited. We travel now with a Jotto desk and small laptop with mapping software. I've looked everywhere but cannot find if there is a 110v plug in the cab area. If not where is the closest plug? Would appreciate anyone looking to see and if so where?

If no plug close by has anyone used one of these adapters to add a 110 v?

Thanks.

There isn’t any 110ac in the front. The closest outlet is under the aft dinette bench or on the wall off the galley area facing the main entry door. I use a 200 watt inverter mounted in the overhead “tech” cabinet immediately behind the forward passenger seat.

Consider the fact that the pax area of the cab on these E-series trucks is very small. I don’t think you’ll have enough room for a Jotto type desk.

I wouldn’t use the the inverter you mentioned because it’s not a pure sine wave version. Fluctuating sine wave output COULD damage your computer or other electronic systems. Take a look at this one:

Did they remove the one in the overhead bunk area? Our 2014 has a 12v outlet in driver corner and toward ceiling is a double 110 outlet. Was hard to find since the television bracket blocked seeing it.

Forgot about that one, but on the 2018 it’s buried inside one of the two covered compartments on the right side of the cabover. Very hard to access. The television up there is 12 volt powered.

Yeah, that all said I normally use the one in the dinette area near the floor for my laptop and just work at the dinette itself.

We removed our jack knife and replaced with two euro swivel chairs so if I want to kick back and work there I would use the one on the bottom of the cabinets just behind the passenger seat.

Really good forum here. In a much younger life I moderated technical support forums for Autodesk on line so used to forum "life'. This one is excellent.

We got into a E-450 MiniWinnie at a local dealer today and sat in the seats. No Jotto desk so will have to get used to the built in navigation or use my Ipad. I could see the area where an optional 110v plug would have gone. We'll wait on any extra plugs until we see what and where we will use.

For navigation we use a Garmin 770 RV and phone with Waze app. Works well and don’t need any 110.

If you use the iPad it’s easy to run USB power to it if you mount it via suction cup over the rear view mirror (which you won’t be using).

Guys, do not forget the 12volt power port in the glove box, top shelf, right side. Do not see it mentioned.

Slight delay on picking up the unit but we are scheduled for tomorrow. We changed from the 2018 we had contracted for to a 2019 same 3051S. The 2018 had a dead refrigerator and the dealer really worked with us to get it replaced or move to the 2019. Very impressed with the responsible service and staff at Campers Inn in Union, CT. Fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow. Thanks for the 12v answers and I'm sure we'll be back to this forum for answers or to share what we know.

Our 2017 3051S has the entertainment center with a 110 volt outlet in the cabinet over the passenger seat.

There is also a 110 volt outlet in the upper cabinet over the sofa behind the passenger seat.

The next closest outlet is below the dinette table.

Looked around and found another one on the short forward facing wall above the driver seat. Same place where the 12 volt for the TV and the HDMI cables are installed. Seems like we keep finding new outlets.

Solved our need for a regular power plug in the cab by buying this. It fits in a cup holder, plugs into a 12 volt plug. It gives you a 110 plug, two 12 volt and a couple of USB. Runs very very quiet and doesn’t get hot.

That should do the trick. Not sure if the inverter is pure or modified sine wave but if you have strange results it may be that the device you're running doesn't like the output.
Also be careful about coins falling into the open 12 volt receptacles. That will blow a fuse. Dont ask me how I know [emoji6]
I hope it is the solution to your need.

Glad you found something to work. I thought I had read that there was one plug that worked off the batteries or inverter while going down the road. Wondering if anyone has found one? I have tried most of them with no luck. Maybe I just thought I read it. Sure would be handy for my curling iron, I know I can use generator if I had to.

The 3051 does not come from FR with an inverter. All the receptacles require either shore or generator power. The only items that require 110 AC are the air conditioner, microwave and converter. Everything else can run on 12 VDC or propane. I added a tiny 200 watt sine wave inverter at each of the two AppleTV boxes but they are not needed or used for anything else.
