Forester 3251 Improved TV Mount?

As the title says we have a 3251 forester with the TV mounted in the bunk area above the cab. HAs anyone one this model, or one with a similar setup, improved the TV mount. The TV is currently on a long swing arm and that is it. Due to the way it is mounted a lot of mounts won't work since they will not be able to lock. So what I am looking for is to add a little more articulation so the mount can come out a little more and then turn the TV a little more to the couch. I don't care if the TV partially blocks the cabinets behind it.

I was hoping someone had come up with a solution. The one I keep coming back to is mounting a MORyde arm to the flat swing arm itself with the TV mounted to it. I just don't know if the existing swing arm can handle it. Yes the TV will sit 2.5" further into the bunk area once stowed but my daughter has plenty of room and won't be traveling with us as much in another couple of years.

The TV is a 42" one and I don't want to live watching TV as we don't do it a lot. It's just there are times when you want to view it and not feel like you need to visit a chiropractor afterwards.

Do you have the corner mount that swings the TV 90 degrees so the front faces the rear of the motorhome? I believe so and if so...

We are very happy with our new TV mount in our 2021 3051. It allows for the screen to swivel and face the loveseat more after the initial swing. Easy install. I did remove the locking assembly from the bracket since that allowed for more arm movement and the tv wasn't going to line up to lock with the install location anyways. It might be different for you since the mount is on the opposite wall. For us, the TV stows in the same location as the factory mount and we just slide the mattress over to keep it in place.

YMMV. Happy Camping and safe travels.

Our 3051 is in storage so I can’t get any pics but…

We had the same issue. I kept the same long arm the television is mounted on and added another swivel mount on the end of that.

Drilled and bolted to the end. Then mounted the television to the new piece.

Added additional left to right swivel as well as some up and down.

Much easier to get a nice angle regardless if we are at the dinette or on the recliners where our jack knife was.

The square swivel piece I added was found at Menards. Not expensive but a little drilling etc to get it setup.

I ended up buying this one and installing it. I first tried to see if I ould put it on the arm. Lines up fine but the factory arm is a piece of junk and simply started o twist real bad but barely any weight on it.

I just took it down dn remounted the TV and that improved things a bit. Using the original holes the problem I have run into is that the tv goes back in fort of weird. That is an easy problem to fix through. Looked at more and I am going to get a block of wood probably a piece of 2x10 or 12. I can then mount that where the old mount was. Then I can move the TV mount forward about 4 inches so it will stow flat on the wall. That also moves it towards the center of the coach which should give me just a little more room to angle the TV to where I would prefer it. Cheap and simple solution.

BTW, think for telling me about that mount. Works very well.
