Forester Backup Camera

I have 2014 Forester 3171DS that came with a RVS rear camera installed. The camera has quit working, and I have started the process to replace it. I was hoping the 5 pin connector from the camera wire was right inside the hole that is drilled in the rear of the coach, but I've pulled the cable out as far as it will go, and no connector. The cable will not come out any more than it is currently (about 18 inches). Does anyone know where the camera connection is to the cable that runs to the front of the coach?

Interesting... I just posted in another thread about the camera cable routing in our 2250.

The connector is probably in an interior wall near the back wall. Ours is in the wall separating the shower & bedroom.

I accidentally disconnected the cable when installing a new shower faucet - the assemblers just plugged it in but didn't run the screw collar down to keep it that way...

Keep us posted. I to have a 2014 3170 and I have had issues with the system. As shown, I would start by removing the big trim above the window in the bedroom. Get a set of plastic interior tools. They work well. Please post your findings.

Thanks for the replies. As you mentioned, the connector is behind the ceiling trim in the bedroom

I had the same issue on my 2016 3010 DS Had to take the trim down above the back window and the short piece inside the wardrobe. What I found was the connection was loose and the camera was intermittent. I was getting a blue screen on the front monitor and a message that said No Signal. I tie wrapped a piece of clear plastic tubing around the connector and then wrapped it in foam pipe insulation. It has been working fine since. I also had to replace the multi-plexer that is mounted under the steering column on mine. That was another issue.

Thank you for posting. Now I know where to look if I have problems. Does not look difficult except for all of the little nails. Wonder if double sided tape would be better.

I used small finishing nails in the same holes as the original nails.
