Forester MBS Rear Stablizer!?

The Rear Stabilizers! What good are these things, are they really needed? We don’t run a dance floor in our coach, and the passenger side one doesn’t extend or retract, we have to crank it up and down with a socket wrench. Any thoughts on the one that doesn't work?

Well I checked this other thread - https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...ng-182985.html - and it looks like I will have to check all the contacts and maybe clean the motor, seems odd as my unit only has 8000+ miles on it.
Oh well, I guess I can crank. Thanks for any added help.

If you’re satisfied living in the coach without the stabilizers down, why not just remove them? The MBS could probably benefit from any weight savings.

If these are electrically operated, the one that doesn’t work probably has a bad switch, disconnected wiring, or a bad motor.

stabilizers are not just to keep the rig from moving around when you are dancing LoL They help in preventing frame flex when the slide or slides are moved out With that said why not install an actually leveling system?

Dancing?

Different point of view. The stabilizers are in the rear. The “dance” floor is in the middle. It is the bed that is in the rear. Don’t wake the munchkins.

As for using a socket wrench to operate the stabilizers. Most folks just use a cordless drill/driver with a socket to expedite the process.
