Front and Rear Tire Pressures 3010 DSF

I just assumed when I brought our new Sunseeker 3010DSF home a week ago that tire pressures would be something the dealer would check during the PDI or for the safety of people test driving the unit. On the door jamb it clearly states. That front tire pressure should be 75 psi and rear pressure 80 psi. Upon delivery, the front tires were approximately the same at 62 psi and the rears between 55 and 70 psi with there bring 10 psi difference on the same tandem side. Interesting enough it looks like the Hancook maximum tire pressures 80 psi. What do you run your tires at?

Also the air bags contained no air and the manual says there should be T least 20 psi to prevent damage so I put in 25 just to be safe. Do RV dealers only worry about the part above the a axels or what...

I guess must be a non-issue for most people but I would be interested in knowing what tire pressures people find gives the best ride and stays within the specifications.

Itís up to the owner to be vigilant on tire pressure.

Not sure how loaded you are yet with your new rig, but I suggest you fill the tires to the posted numbers to begin with. Do some significant driving and start judging for yourself.

Tire pressure and handling

With regard to front tire pressure:

POPULAR MECHANICS MAY 1973:
START QUOTE:
If too little caster exists, the car will wander and weave,
thus necessitating constant corrections in steering.
END QUOTE:

There are at least two ways to increase the effective
runtime caster:

1. Decrease the tire inflation pressure to the required
minimum for load (to increase Pneumatic Trail), this
should give you the maximum available benefit from the
existing caster angle. It appears this effect is much more
pronounced on larger wheels (ie 22.5 inch vs 16 inch)

AND/OR

2. Increase the caster angle during an alignment
(to increase caster trail).

On my 2016 3011 which has Michelin I run 75 front and 80 rear. I also run about 70 in the air bags which seems to give it a good ride. Weight wise we are maxed out.

I have no air bags and am maxed out as well. I find that PSI to be the most optimum. After several hours on the road, the fronts will be 80-82 and the rears in the low 90s, unless it is unforgiving, hot weather.

75 & 80, as stated on the door jam. Assuming you have the Ride Rite Air Helper Springs, the DH adjust them once in a while to get a nicer ride.

What air pressure do you run in your air bags and how do you know what to adjust them to to improve the ride?

Run 75 front and 80 rear in my Hankooks. Still like those tires after 8000 miles. 70 in air bags. Mine usually deflate to 40 between trips.

How long or how many days those airbags psi goes down to 40? Ours does that too but the passenger side is quicker than driver side.

Just purchased our 2019 Sunseeker 3010DS this week. Air pressure was one of my concerns, and I asked on the PDI. Our orientation was done by one of the senior service techs who was quite knowledgable on all equipment.

His comment was they put 70 psi in all tires when cold, as the coach is empty and that is plenty for proper control and good ride home. They put 25-30 psi in the airbags to keep properly inflated and prevent any damage.

He recommends weighing the vehicle when fully loaded, to get a base weight. Load can vary greatly between owners. Run 75 psi on all, and 60 psi on the airbags after loading.

Mine today was 14,120# on certified scale at the county landfill, with full water and propane...... It rides and handles wonderfully at these settings.

The air bags pressure is user dictated

Try 30 psi, take a drive. Then try 70 psi and take a ride. adjust as necessary to your liking. I usually run 60 psi, 70 psi towing my car dolly. They lose some pressure sitting in the driveway perhaps 2 psi every week or so.

My 3011ds had PSI's in the 60s upon delivery. I went with door lable recommendations and found 60psi in air bags seems good when loaded.

Same here, tire pressure 75/80 and 70 in bags. We are running about 300 bellow max gross the last time we weighed. We did add a wireless air pump for the air bags so I can fill them from the cab. I hate where they put the schrader valves in the cargo bays.
