My '13 32' 3100SS with 11k miles gets 8.8 typically and most recently on a 900 mile trip to KY.

Remember it is not mpg we care about. It is SMG - smiles per gallon. The more smiles the better off you are.

Who cares that you empty your 401k when you fill up. You can not take it with you.

I like to think of it like this. To kennel our fur kids would be 120 a night. It is cheaper to take them with us. Plus sitting in a traffic jam you have a built restroom. You know what has been on the seat. You access to a gourmet short order kitchen. A fully stocked bar if you are really sitting. You can even clean laundry when you get hot under the collar as you sit.

Try all that in a sports car....

X2, X3, Plus, no bedbugs!!! You also know the food your eating hasen't been dropped on the floor!!! You know how often the sheets have been changed!!! You can open the fridge and take whatever you want without being charged for it!!! You know your four footed furry kids are enjoying being with you rather than stuck in some 6ft x 6ft cage (most important reason)!!!

8s a good number thing is the speed over 65 starts to hurt. However most of the speed limits are now 70.

And in my case is costs less than a Maserati!

We use ours for shorter day trips too. Nothing like having all the comforts of home away from home.

Just over 20k miles divided by total gallons purchased, mine is averaging 7.8 with 2014 JK 4door Jeep.
High tank 8.8, low tank 5.9 w/ 50 mph + head winds and making 45mph foot to the floor across Kansas last year.
