Fuel gauge

Hello all.
I have a 2022 Forest River Forester. I can't seem to set the fuel gague display. Can someone help me with this please. Also, DEF came on and I thought it was fuel because the fuel light came on. So stopped for diesel and I only needed 80 dollars worth of fuel. So what is DEF and how do I take care of this?

Please and thanks to all that reply.

Moved thread to the Forester and Sunseeker sub-forum since the OP is asking for model-specific information.

Didn’t you get a Private Message (PM) from the system with a link to where your thread was moved?

Also, the Site Team always recommends that new members check out each section of the Forum and their sub-forums before posting. That way you'll have a better idea where to post or do research. You'll find that sub-forum in the Motorhome section.

Did you read the owners manual for your motorhome’s truck chassis? It should make some mention of DEF and how to refill it.

Yep, the OP probably has a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Chassis Motorhome. I'll bet the chassis owner's manual will help the OP.

Thanks all.
Yes. The manual says to fill it in the engine compartment. There is a cap that indicates DEF. But what bothers me is that the engine fuel light came on. You know, the one that displays a gas pump and where the fuel fill is. Which is why I stopped for full, but only needed 80 dollars. Manual is not specific enough?

Unless it has been changed since my 2012, the Mercedes Sprinter fuel tank holds ~26 gallons. The fuel warning light comes on with ~6 gallons remaining. About 20 gallons to refill from the warning light.

Thanks. But I can't seem to get the display to show fuel status? How much fuel in the tank. And of course why DEF displays the way it does.
