Hi Dave, in a previous post you mentioned you hear a click when you turn
on the heat but the furnace fan does not start and you have power at
the furnace.
First- has 12v power been applied to the furnace all this time?? The furnace
control board can fault and stop the process. If this happens you reset
the board by shutting off all furnace power. If you have cycled the coach battery switch off and on since this first occurred then it's probably not
a board fault lock out and you move on to other things to check as below... since you said the coach was in storage I assume the battery
power was OFF during storage??
A couple of things come to mind-- it could be a dead spot on the fan motor.
If you can manage to stick a screw driver into the air inlet or exhaust port and give the fan motor a nudge. This might move the motor off the dead
spot on the commutator and it will also verify the motor is not stuck.
Second- it's possible the fan relay is bad. Just because it clicks doesn't
mean it's actually sending power to the fan. You should be able to junp
a wire across the relay contacts and manually engage the fan motor.
All this depends on whether you can get to the relay with the furnace
in place.
In my previous rig I found the furnace wasn't all that hard to remove but
all installations are different. In my case the hardest part of removing
the furnace was disconnecting the gas line as the fitting was behind a
wooden panel that had been nailed and screwed in place.
I hope you can get yours fixed without having to remove it but there's
not a lot you can do with it in the coach.
Hopefully others will chime in with suggestions.
Keep in mind the fan must start before anything else happens so this is
not a "are your LP tanks full" issue. It's a "my furnace fan won't start" issue!
Good luck and welcome to Forest River Forums!!
