Furnace Question

I always camp in the spring and summer and since I bought my Sunseeker used last year I have never had to have the furnace on. It is winter here so I decided to run the engine and generator for a bit. I then turned on the furnace. I put it in heat mode on the thermostat. The furnace kicked on but so did the fan on the air conditioner. In my old motor home heat would come out the low floor vents and the air conditioning would come out the top roof vents.
Right now the lower vents are pumping out hot air like they should but the only thing coming out of the roof vents is freezing cold air. I let the system run for 30 minutes and it was always cold air coming out the ceiling vents. Why is the air conditioning fan even running in Heat mode on the thermostat? That fan is way more powerful blowing freezing cold air than the fan from the furnace blowing the hot air. I turned off the generator and the ac fan stopped and the furnace ran as it should. Why does the generator kick on the ac fan in heat mode? I was not near a plug so I don't know if it does the same thing when hooked up to 20 or 30 amp service.
Any ideas?

Select FAN on your thermostat and set it to AU (auto) not HI or LO and should be good to go.

Most likely the AC fan is running but not the compressor. Check the thermostat. If the fan mode is Hi or Lo the AC fan will run to circulate air. Set fan mode to AUTO and AC fan should stop.

Put your thermostat on fan and select Auto now switch back to heat and see if the fan does not come on. Only other thing I know of would be if its,a heat pump/strip in the A.C..

If none of the above works, you may need to reset your thermostat. Thus procedure is outlined in your manual.
