What kind of gas mileage does a
Class c 32 ft forest with a v10
Engine get on flat terrain and also towing a 2dr jeep at 62 to 65 miles per Hr. I know I am not buying a rv for fuel mileage but I would like to know.We have a class a with v10 and sales man say 8 to 10 and we never got close to that.

Might be able to tell you in a couple of weeks. Finally got my my '06 Jeep Liberty set up as toad for my Sunseeker. Next trip out is 4th of July weekend. But it will be in the mountains of MD & PA, not flat terrain.

I get 8 - 8.2MPG on a average while towing a Jeep grand Cherokee. 8.5 - 8.9 not towing on flat ground (hills really kill the fuel mileage)

First, as you have learned, never, ever believe what an rv salesman tells you!
Second, never, ever, believe what an rv salesman tells you!
Towing, expect between 6 and 8 mpg. Maybe a bit more, sometimes a bit less.
No "magic" tricks, no "add on's" will get you more.
Your driving a 6 ton box, towing 3500 lbs thru the air at 60-65 mph. Not too much you can do.
Two things I am planning on trying should get my Lexi better milage...
First, I'm going to try to make the cabin as airtight as I can, and before a trip, fill the cabin completely with helium. This should lighten the weight being transferred to the ground, thus better mileage.
Of course, fuel savings will be cancelled out by the cost of helium.
Second attempt will be to have my better half standing in the middle of the cabin, and jump up and down. I figure if she's in the air for approx. 1/2 second, during that 1/2 second, the rig will be 120 lbs lighter, thus saving gas, thus, better mileage
Over a trip time of 6 hours per day, she'll be in the air for 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 hours (have to give her a break now and then). During that (air) time, I figure the savings will be significant.
And, I will add, don't worry about mpg, go out and enjoy your rig for the reasons you bought it. Go out and see the sights, have fun, have family time, make some memories.

To get a true reading of your mpg, you need to get a Scan Gauge. It will give you real time data concerning your mpg, per tank, per trip, and keep a cumulative total.
Going by the old "divide the miles on the odmometer by the # of gallons needed to fill the tank" isn't accurate at all. You don't really know exactly how many gallons you used, because filling up from one tank to the next could be off by a gallon or two, more or less than the previous tank full.
Scan Gauge runs thru the vehicle's computer. Much more accurate.

I have a ScanGuage II on my Forester 3051S. We are on the final leg traveling from NC to Estes Park CO and return. We are towing a Hyundai Elantra GT on an Acme Tow dolly. Based on my ScanGuage, odometer, and the size of my wallet, I can tell you what I am getting based on driving an average of 65MPH. I am averaging on this trip 6.8 MPG.

Grumpy has a good idea...but my wife likes this one better. Run a throttle cable to the toad to help give it a push down the road...I bet the coach could jet 15 - 18 mpg that way...maybe more!

We tried that, but our little 148 hp Subi just didn't have the "ooomph" to add that much. Especially going up some mountain grades.
But rather than a cable, DW sat in the drivers seat. She gave it up cause she got tired of just looking at the arse end of the Lexi. Kept giving my strange finger signals via the rear camera.
Just tell your wife it will be good for her cardio, a good form of exercise.

My records after 3000 miles I am average 8 mpg mostly towing with a usual speed between 60-65. My last trip was about 1200 miles and I filled up 4 times with mpg of 8.8, 8.9, 8.4, and 8.3 towing our Corolla.

Greetings. I don't keep track as a rule but did check it for one tank on our recent 35k trip. We have about 5k miles now on our 32ft Sunseeker. We are at 19300 lbs with toad on a dolly rolling down the road according to the scales. Got 7.5 running 65 keeping the throttle constant without cruise on, which let the speed drift down to 55 on some hills. That was no fun so set the cruise and it held 65. This was in what I would term rolling hills. Your results may vary.

The radio/GPS in our 3051S has a gas mileage feature. You enter the details at each gas stop and it does the figuring.

We just completed a 2000 mile trip from Texas to Colorado and back. So lots of altitude changes. Towing a Lincoln MKX SUV. We saw 6.5 to 8.6 mpg. Averaged a little over 7mpg. When I drove 60 we were more likely to see 8s and when I drove 65 we were more likely to see 6s. Wind speed and direction played a role in this as well.

What kind of setup did you use? Going to be towing our 2005 Liberty someday in the near future so looking for feedback.

Just got home to Oregon from Ohio with our new Forester 3051S. We towed our Honda CR-V all the way, thru Rocky Mountains, Cascade Mountains and midwest flatlands. Overall we got 7.9 mpg, which I was pretty happy with, since I was hoping fro 8.0. We should do even better with less mountains.

I note a lot of folks tow Jeeps with off-road tires. Those tires are poor for mpg. Pump all your tires up will help but may cost you some tire wear. Everything is a trade-off.

I have smaller 24' Class-C with Chevy 6L I get 10.1 mpg for the trip last week Indiana to Ohio. Had cruse set to 62 on IN & OH TPK and ran the AC full time. No toad.

Towing a Jeep Wrangler I got just over 7 1/2, CA to Utah and back, lost of grades. I just installed a 5 Star tuner to hopefully give it a little more power and change the shift points to allow more use of the cruise control. Heading out for a 5,ooo mile trip next week.

This is after a recent ~350 mile trip towing my ski boat, some hills but mostly freeway driving around 60MPG. When not towing I get between 8-8.5.
