Gem Module

So after the right blinker stopped working after having the 3050S washed by the dealer, I realized the back up camera stopped working when I turned on the right blinker also. Less than 3k miles, took it back to dealer who took it to a Ford dealer. They replaced the Gem module. I asked if this was common, no. Anyone else been thru this?

Past posts have stated that water was getting in at the rear light lens and shorting out the bulb sockets. Might want to pull each of the taillight lenses and inspect.

Thanks. That was the original thought. But after two weeks of 'drying out', didn't correct itself. Ford dealer replaced Gem module. Sometimes it is one thing after another with this coach.

Prior to starting out last weekend with our 2012 2650, we checked the rear lights as always.........and there weren't any working, except the backup lights. Inspection revealed that all 4 1157 tail and brake light bulbs had shorted out; two actually shattered the glass.
This is apparently not a new issue even though I had not heard of the water leak issue with the lenses before. With 4 new bulbs everything works, but what is the best way to seal the taillight lenses so I don't encounter this again, but still be able to remove them?

Place a little grease around the lens cover where it mates to the light housing..I had the same issue...

how about using Vaseline instead? I use that on
many rubber fittings to make them more
water tight. Like the toilet rubber so the
water does not leak out.

Use grease right on the bulb and a clean socket. It will never corrode.
