Generac 40QP question

Hi all,

Just finished our first trip in our (new to us) 2011 2301. One thing we ran into was that a couple of times when we ran the generator- Generac 40QP, when we would turn the AC on, after a few minutes, the generator would sputter, stumble and then die. This seemed to correspond to the compressor kicking on.

This happened a couple of times, both while parked and while on the move. The generator has 33 hours on it and I did change the oil before our trip. This only occurred when attempting to use the AC, and not while using any other appliance.

Other than a couple of times where this happened, the generator and the AC unit functioned without issue.

Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening, and what I should check to troubleshoot this issue? For what it's worth, the RV was originally from Indiana (closer to sea level) and we are currently in Denver, and was at a similar altitude (Mt. Rushmore) when we noticed this problem.

There is an altitude adjustment on the Onan...not sure about the Generac and we don't use them at the factory anymore so I can't look. I would check the manual (or search for the online manual) Should explain it there.
