Onan 4kw

anyone have similar problems?
Unit will start and run for 4-6 minutes and die. With no load.
Oil level is full ,
full tank of gas.
Is there and inline fuel filter somewhere?
It is in a 2014 sunseeker 3010dsf

Did you get an onan book in your manual packet if so it tells you how to find the fault codes then tells you the possible problems related to the fault code.

Onan had lots of problems with fuel pumps this past year.

Just dropped it off at Cummins/Onan and that is what the service writer figured it is, Thanks for the feedback.

Likely a fuel pump issue. Many people have posted failures here some of them multiple times as replacements were also defective. Some people carry a spare with them as new pumps may not be readily available on the road.

Yes it was the fuel pump. Took it into Onan and they replaced the pump assy. Dropped it off on Wednesday evening and it was ready Thursday at 10;30 am, I was surprised how quick it was,
No have to get it in for the power converter not working, quit charging the batteries,
When it rains it pours, Charges from the alternator but not on shore power any longer, checked all fuses and the reset all were fine.

Take it back to Onan and have them double check their work, sounds like they did not hook up a wire or three.

Could also be a stuck generator isolation relay.

When they come in at my work doing that we check fuel supply first. Even a little air getting in on the suction side of the pump will eventually cause the motor to starve for fuel and shuts down.

Are those fuel pumps hard to replace? Is it worth carrying a spare just in case or does it require the whole unit to be pulled out to get to?

Sounds like they go out a lot.

Pretty easy if its like ours....2 wires, and some hard line to unscrew. Our fuel pumps are in the front. Take the front cover off, if u have one and it's right there.
