Generator won’t start

Help we have a 2016 Forester Class C and we have Onan RV QG 4000 generator and having hard time to start. We usually fire the generator once a month even when it’s in storage but recently cannot start is there a trick to starting it?

Well you could have several different causes. Fuel pump or clogged carb are first ideas. Do you use a gas additive during storage such as Sta-Bil or Seafoam?

Thank you very much. It sounds like the generator is choking, we tried to prime it couple of times hold the start button and it just makes the sound it want to start but it stop. No we don’t use gas additive is it helpful to add gas additive when in storage?

Does anyone knows where is the carburetor for the generator?
