Getting the original warranty date extended

We are getting/have gotten quite a bit of work done on our new RV, including taking it back to the factory to get a large number of issues fixed. I believe that we should get our one year warranty from Forest River extended to a year from when all these repairs are completed. The RV has been in the shop (both Mercedes and RV) or unusable more than not since we purchased it in June of this year.
Is this unreasonable? How do we go about negotiating such an extension?

I would ask Forest River very quietly and respectfully for a warranty restart and see if they agree.
I would not involve Mercedes at all.
Catch more flies with honey than vinegar. My opinion.

I agree with netgain. I might would make some notes to determine how many days it was out of service in the shop or waiting for parts or for a scheduled appointment. If they don't agree for a complete restart then I would list my days out to them and try to at least get thst same amount of days extended.
