Grey tank flushing

A newbie question. We have a 2800qs and I can see the black tank flush hose connection. I have used this connection and opened the black tank dump valve and it seemed to flush out the black tank. I let it run until the water ran clear. My question is where and how do you flush the grey tank? Thanks.

Grey tanks shouldn't need flushing as it is only liquid and no solids.

We try not to dump food scraps or crumbs in the sink too.

Shouldn't need to flush that tank. You shouldn't have a lot of solids in them to warrant the need for flushing.

If you do have a lot of solids or grease in them, you can fill them up with water and let them drain again.

Most try to not to dump any food scraps, grease, etc. down them. That would be the only reason you would need to flush it.

Gray-Galley tanks can be "Worse" than any Black tank! The galley tanks can "Ferment" way before the need to Dump in regards to Full! Youroo!!

If you do dishes in your RV...you will get food particles in the gray tank.

The best way to get the solids out of the gray tank is to let it get mostly full and let it drain completely.

This causes that 'swirl' (like you see in a sink drain when the water is draining out) in the tank, which will draw most of the solids out of the gray tank.

Agree, but "fermenting" doesn't mean it needs to be flushed. Just dumped.

Grey tanks tend to have a fair amount of soap in it, since it's for showers, hand washing and dishes. So they tend to keep themselves fairly clean as long as you're not treating the drain like the garburator at home.

For piece of mind, I also dump a little TST Grey Water treatment down a drain 1 or 2 times a season, usually just before a long drive so it can slosh around.

gray tanks can be flushed by adding an after market flushing system, ..."quickie flush" works very well, and is easy to install ... I've installed four of them on previous trailers which had no flushing system at all and was very satisfied with how well they worked, ... price now is the lowest I've ever seen them $15.06, usually between $25/$28, Walmart and Amazon are the same, ...

Just make sure you close your grey valve the (last day of your trip) right before your last shower
It’s just me and My wife
Two showers worth of soapy water “flushed” out at the camp drain at tear down will keep the grey pretty clean.
It’s such a ritual for us the last night my wife always reminds me to close the grey and sometimes I actually already remember [emoji4]

Just like the black tanks, it is not a good idea to leave the gray tanks open all of the time.

You should let it fill and dump it when needed.

My gray tank filled up last night and since I'm leaving tomorrow morning I dumped about 1/2 so I can use the gray water to back flush the black tank and rinse out the drain hose.

By the by...

To flush out the gray tank you'll just need to fill it up with water and drain a couple of times.

I've used my fresh water tank filler hose and run it through the bathroom sink drain on high force to blast water into the gray tank.
