Has Anyone Driven a Lot of Miles on an MBS Forester Using B5-B20 Without Damage

We have a 2017 Forester MBS 2401W with the Bluetec diesel engine. The Mercedes warranty claims that damage to the BlueTec engine will not be covered if the owner uses greater than B5 diesel fuel (recently the position has been softened a bit, but leaves Mercedes liability unanswered). A warning sticker is also near the filling cap. Unfortunately, because of deceptive sales practices in the U.S. nobody (dealers, manufacturers) tell prospective buyers that it is virtually impossible to get B5 or lower in many States.

So, is the Mercedes claim of engine damage correct or exaggerated? Has anyone used biodiesel containing more than the B5 (i.e., B6-B100) in their late model Merecedes Bluetec without damage?

I have a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 3.0L Mercedes Benz engine. I use B20 regularly and have 107k miles on the engine.

B20 Fuel dilution (from DPF regeneration) will shorten oil lifespan. I would not go more than 7500 miles between oil changes if using B20. (google biodiesel fuel polymerization)

I think MB's warning is the fact that oil cannot last 20,000 miles if B20 is used. I personally would never exceed 10,000 miles if using plain on dino diesel. Extended oil change intervals are an environmental creation.

You'll be ok if you use it. I actually seek out B20 because it allows longer distance between DPF regenerations.
