Heat/ac

When i turn my furnace on or my a/c they both run at the same time.
Has anyone run into this before

Are you saying that when you start the AC that the furnace comes on also?

As I remember - Set thermostat to "Fan". Use + or - to see choices - "Hi", "Lo", and "Au" (auto), as I remember. Choose "Au". Set thermostat to heat or cool - fan will cycle on and off with the furnace or the AC.

Does the AC and gas furnace both come on when you select Heat?

One of the most common problem on the Forum.
Easily fixed by setting the thermostat to AUTO.
Your thermostat manual should explain it.
