I can’t believe Ford leaves it this open REGARDLESS of what will be attached to the cutaway cab. Seems to be just asking for trouble from road debris into the radiator and cooling fins.

Even the main grill seems to be rather open, but it does have a bit more grill work.

Am I the only one concerned here?
We have a 2018 sunseeker and no issues. We love it and hope you will too🙂

You still continue to discuss issues about a diesel having a turbo, and that’s all fine if the E450 even had that opinion.

Stick with the topic I posted regarding the E450 platform and all we’re discussing is the opening for the gas powered V-10 Triton engine.

The 4th generation E-series has been around since 1992. So, yes, it has aged, but it would be silly to redesign it solely for cosmetic reasons.

People that don’t like the looks are under no obligation to buy one.

My 2015 Silverado 2500HD Duramax ... after 5-1/2 years there are several knicks on the cooler opening grill having saved the cooler fins.

KenandTerry - 35k on ours and haven't had anything go in there except bugs, but I do see your point. Found this, but it would need to be kept clean and it will restrict airflow. Click image for larger version

The extra space below is for cooling, do not block it. For the heavy cooling needed a required amount of square inches is needed, so the extra space is where they got it.
