Hole in Battery Compartment

Has anyone noticed the large round hole in the step battery compartment in the MSB 2400 WS?. Want to close it up to keep out the critters.

That hole is there for a reason. The battery compartment requires a source of fresh air to disperse noxious fumes and explosive mixtures of hydrogen gasses generated during operation.

Put some mesh wire over it..

That's what I thought it was for. Didn't want to plug it up without asking. Thanks.

I plugged mine with one of those aluminum or copper scrub pads. I just shoved as much as I could to fill the hole and trimmed the rest. It isn't a hermetic seal so the ventilation is still there, maybe less but still there. Anyway, I haven't had any issues. I have used the same technique for plugging other holes under the rig as well. Good luck!

Hardware stores sell round louvered port vents in various sizes. Usually used for soffit vents and they have screens to keep bugs out. That is what I used.
