Perhaps spraying CRC MAF cleaner in where choke coil is to keep clean and and springs. It will clean any buildup with leaving a residue. Mine seems fine after getting it free, but I am concerned there may be something inside the choke housing to obstruct again.

My Onan 4000 has always been hard to start.
After reading about the choke linkage I opened my cover, moved the linkage until it was free and it fired up on the first try.
I didn't need to hold it in position.
Gonna try some light lubricant... maybe silicone.
Great info here.
