Insurance?

Who you guys using and how much a year are you paying? Always had my trailer with State Farm but the dealer got me a quote through a broker from Nationwide for $700/year including total replacement coverage. Haven't checked with State Farm yet, will do that today along with Good Sam. I do know I had a claim on my trailer and State Farm was excellent to work with.

Another good club membership to have is IRV2 (it's a Social Network) and Escapees (Club) We went through Farm & City (Broker for National general) and, as IRV2 & Escapee members got a huge discount (almost 50%) off what Nationwide quoted you.

Here is her contact info (remember you will have to get a membership to Escapees ($39/year) and IRV2 (Free) to get the discount.

I pay around 700 but that is for class c motor home which will be little higher than tt or 5er and little less than class a depending on what the replacement value is and deductible you want and history

I have Progressive, but only because USAA's RV insurance is through them. It's replacement value insurance. Up to 180 days use per year and it $760 a year. I have the same RV you're getting. I also got a quote from Nationwide through FMCA and it was maybe $30 cheaper.

We are paying $752 a year thru State Farm on our Class C. They don't offer replacement cost coverage. A lot will depend on where you live, where you park your RV, etc.

Good Sam (National General) just quoted me $650/yr with a clean driving record including total replacement coverage. Got a similar from Nationwide but my State Farm was higher. Probably going Good Sams for now.

Working with GEICO now on a renewal. They don't have a full timer friendly program as their RV coverage is use based. When I told them we were full timers they said they probably weren't going to be able to insure us any longer. I have tried State Farm, Allstate and Nationwide but none of them have full timer programs. Working with Farm & Ranch (Escapees) now but no premium quote yet.

Good Sam was asking me for total days in use too. Good thing we're under 50 nights a year.... For now

Best price I found for the coverage level I wanted was Progressive. $720 a year for my Forester. Thing I like about them is that it's a one year policy, not the 6 month scam a lot of the other companies run.

State Farm, $610. They misquoted it somehow and came back asking for $175 more after I signed up but our long-term agent is standing behind the quote so that's good!

We are $550/yr with Geico but we also have 3 other vehicles and our home insured with them. Also, we only use our MH about 4 months out of the yr.

Started with National General...at about 650.00 a year......next year it went to 800.00....then to a little over 1000.00. No claims and that was for 2 vehicles and a 5th wheel with full coverage and replacement cost. Just swapped to Progressive and same coverage with towing now runs 600.00 a year. And we fulltime.

Why are 6 month policies a scam. Geico for instance does 6 month terms but it's just your yearly price divided by two.

BTW, all these quotes here aren't necessarily comparable. The quote you get depends on several factors including your driving record, where you live and store the RV, and how many miles you will be driving or (or days use per year) - and I'm not suggesting hedging on any of those. Insurance companies love nothing more than a reason to deny coverage on a big claim.

??

I'm confused about this? You backed your trailer into your house (property), you,or someone notified the police? who responded and wrote a citation ?

No citation. Insurance processed the claim as an accident and paid to replace the entire back wall. (Poked a hole in it from the gutter lag bolt)

No DL 'points' (Insurance Companies don't really care what Cops think anyway) but he's being charged with an 'at fault' accident by the Insurance Company. And it will go on a National Exchange where all Insurance Companies share information.

Motorized RVs cost more because they have to have Liability, UM, Medical etc that towables do not.

A towable simply uses the TV's Liability, etc.

For my new 29HFS, I'm paying $109 every 6 months -- $500 Ded Collision, $250 Comprehensive.

On the Motorized RVs, will they allow you to 'suspend' coverage? That's where you take off all the coverages you don't need when it's sitting like Liability, Collision, Medical, Uninsured Motorists, etc while leaving fire, theft (comprehensive) on it and whatever your State requires to keep your tag legal. In some States, it isn't worth bothering with, in others.........

Gotta be careful your Bank doesn't have a Nervous Breakdown, though. Some of them can get real prickly about taking off Collision even if it's sitting.
