Is second A/C on the way

I went to look at a new 2018 Sun Seeker 3010DS yesterday at a local dealership. Plugged in 30amp and started the 15000 (18000) BTU ac while we were there. 95 degrees outside. Could not feel it cool down any during the half hour we sat in it. Very little air coming out of most vents. The GM had been bragging on the Atwood super fancy 15000 BTU a/c that put out like an 18000 btu. Says even with 2 a/cs it takes 2 hours to cool down an RV. I know better because my 5er can chill you out in 30 minutes with both a/cs on in the hottest months. Now he tells me he has some 2019 models ordered that will have 13,500 btu amd 11000 btu a/c but still 30 amp.
Have any of you heard this, or can anyone here comfirm?
In Louisiana, like most southern states, 2 air conditions are necessary to maintain comfort May through Oct.

I have the AirCommand and it’s just as hot and humid here in S Florida. I cranked the genset up to power my air compressor and hit the A/C to put a load on the genny. Proceeded to air up the tires and put the sims back on. When I was finished, about 45 minutes later, the unit was at 76* with the stat set on 74*. Something was wrong with the unit on the lot. Maybe the door was open, shades up, burners on and vent fan running. Maybe your sales person was putting out too much hot air.
One 15k will cool a 30’ box adequately. It’s all about managing the heat penetration.

As for the dual A/C’s on a 30 amp coach, have not seen that yet.

The only Class C that offers 2 AC units without getting into a super C is the SOB Thor Jayco Greyhawk Prestige but I am to loyal to FR. If Forester/Sunseeker offered that I might be tempted to trade.

I have heard the Atwood does a great job of cooling but the heat pump is a little quirky with its constant air sampling.

I have to think the AC was not functioning correctly. I'll post back when (if) general manager gets a dual AC class c.

Ok. Forest River rep says yes, they are working on adding 2nd a/c to next year's Forester. They will likely be 13,500 and 11,000 btu, still on 30 amp circuit and still with 4000 Onan Gen.

I can't imagine running 2 AC's on a 30 amp circuit. (Well, maybe running, but not starting.) I'll have to see to believe it. MAYBE if they've both got Micro Air Easy Starts on them.

Another question. I see the outside speakers are in the awning arms? How are they?

Good for not having holes in the side of the RV. Bad for your neighbor unless your awning is tilted full down on both sides. I really like how the Solera operates though. Very well engineered.

Yeah, I was thinking the speakers were directed away from where you sit under the awning. Little things i know but just curious.

The posting sound like us last year. After three seasons the dometic 15k heat pump really dropped in temp differentails. Our repair shop looked at it and contacted dometic, they were told it was in spec. and not a warrenty issue.

Fast forward, we swapped out to the american made coleman 15k heat pump. I could butcher a side of beef in there while the temp outside is 95 with pure humidity. Differentails always running over 26 degrees. We will see if this holds out long term as we leave the coach on shore power 24/7 at 77 summer and 66 winter.

Look under the hood of the three brands (cole, dom, and atwood), I saw a difference you may also.

Not staring a brand war here just my experiences...

First I would check to see if the air coming right out of the A/C is cold. Second, I would check the air flow from each of the ducts.

I found that in my case the manufacturer had cut directly through the ducts with the black and grey water vent pipes and a lot of cold air was going down into the wall all the way out the bottom of the rig on top of the tanks.

I manually sealed the breeches with expansion foam.

Also the way they channeled the air from the A/C into the ducts was crude at best. There was no concern for turbulence.

I filled the openings with expansion foam and the next day used a long blade and cut back through the foam taking in account angles that would allow the air to flow more freely.

I now get more air out on low fan than I ever did on high and therefore the air is even colder.

Yep, I agree. I've had 2 dometics in 2 units.my current Coleman's are much more efficient and faster at cooling down current fiver.
