Issues adding water to fresh water tank on 2018 3010ds.

Water shoots back out when attempting to fill fresh water tank. I've inserted a 5 ft hose to get around the issue for now.

Take a look at this picture of the 2 hose connected to the fresh water tank. I think the top hose is the vent hose. The larger one is the water hose. Should the vent hose be rerouted below the water hose?Click image for larger version

The hoses are fine. Because of the difference in the diameter of the hoses, you may need to lower the flow rate from the filling hose so as to allow air to escape primarily through the vent hose. If you try to fill too fast some air will escape through the fill hose taking water with it.

Be sure there are no loops in you fill hose. It should be all downhill.

Same thing can happen on our Flagstaff. Water pressure was too high when trying to fill, so it was spraying back out. Bought one of these so I can throttle back the rate of flow when needed:

Issues adding water to fresh water tank on 2018 3010ds.

I had issues filling my 2801QS until I tried one of these that was recommended by forum members. Now thereís no more burping, I just let it fill. You might have to hunt around looks like they are sold out on Amazon.

I tried the Camco filler but it didnít let the air out enough on my rig. The secure fill has holes around the neck to let the air out.

Yes secure-fill works very well. It has been out of stock on Amazon for several weeks.

Easy to make one as well using garden hose parts and a shutoff valve. You may still need to pause the fill to let the air escape. If you add a inline filter it might slow the flow down enough so it will fill completely without having to pause. You will also get filtered water.

i got one of these and it is great. The only thing i had to do is cut the hose about 1/2 inch. Forester 3051s goes almost straight down from the filling cap.

I would almost put money on it you have a sag in your fill line. We had a bit of a dip about a foot away from the water tank and I stuck a small PVC pipe under it to prop it up and it fills like a dream now.

I made one. Easy peasy. See my post under 2800QS mods.

I had a similar issue on my 3270. When I pulled the cover off the bed and could see the tank, I found that they had secured the midpoint of the hose ABOVE the inlet height. So, water had to be forced uphill until it was past the midpoint before it would drain down into the tank. I remounted the hose midpoint support to a lower level that put the hose at a constant slope to the tank and I no longer had an issue.

Sag in the hose

There is not much difference, about 2" from my guesstimate, between where it fills and the tank entry. Did not seem to matter the speed of the water, some wanted to run backward. Indeed at the factory, they zip tied the midpoint higher than the entry point. I have made the slope better to the mid point, and moved the hose midpoint support by adding a board. I think it will be better but I'm not sure yet.

Water fill

Well I have a 3051s and I found a fill adapter to fill it with no problems. The fill adapter is no longer being sold. You could make one. Secure-Fill SNL1SF RV Fresh Water Fill
