Smile Jinx! 3070 DSL without 120 v today- fine yesterday!

Yesterday I bragged on my Sunseeker having no major problems - today no 120 v eventho I'm hooked up( and have been for over a month). So called FR tech help and after testing several things it looks like either my cord or the transfer switch. It's hot here! I called thr nearest FR dealer in Sheridan, Wyo but so far no call back to my voice mail. I'm still under warranty, so I guess I'll just wait to hear from him( probably after the holiday weekend). At least every thing works on the genny, so I'll have coffee . Any thoughts? Thanks , my DH is in Cali, so I'm on my own.

Now the generator won't stay on ! First time boondocking even if it is in a CG. At least we're still under warranty. Hope Dalton's Rv in Sheridan can fix it Monday as I'm living in it for now!

Maybe an extension cord from the campground power pole to run critical stuff until you can get it fixed? Unplug what you need to run from the camper electrical and plug into the extension cord?

A neighbour in the CG suggested that I prop open the door to the generator compartment -that maybe it was over -heating. Did it -so far, so good! The ac feel so good. Thanks for suggestions about extension cord-I'll try that if this doesn't work out.

What door did you prop open? Compartment door or the removal cover that access the generators oil fill & air filter? The generators service cover needs to always be on while running for proper air flow.

Sure sounds like the transfer switch. Might take the cover off and look for a loose connection.

Dalton's found the problem-a loose wire at the wall plug-probably from the factory. At least I didn't have to buy a new transfer switch $ . I will be sending the $127 bill to warranty. There was also a 12v connection without a wire nut , they fixed. Quality Control?

Was it the reason generator wouldn't run?

Wow on two points:
Garrette and Ned, 1:56 and 3:11 am?

On the plug can we assume there was something actively plugged in the socket drawing a load? I can't image a partially connected outlet having any effect on the power service.... but it does seems reasonable if the misbehaving wire was touching something it shouldn't.

When I said wall plug I meant where the electric cord from the hookup plugs into the motorhome! Sorry about the confusion. Anyway, they looked at the transfer switch under the bed ( A pita to get to)and found that it had power to only one side. The unhooked the switch and tried just 120 from the cord but that didn't work either. They tested the cord and it was okay, so they looked at wiring at the plug in out side the wall of the MH - sure enough ,a wire had not been tightened down- tightened it and everything including the generator works! They also found two wires for 12 v that went to the fuzes that had no wire nut, and fixed that. I guess the electrical installer was in a hurry when he did my MH . One of those intermittent things that are hard to figure.

Ya, I understand that. Last spring I was washing my truck in the driveway at 3:30 am. The house lite like a xmas tree, I had talk radio on and it was extremely low. I did learn we have a deputy that makes rounds in the county. He slowly went by with the window down. I said I didn't like water spots from the sun.. He just waved and shook his head...
